Saturday, August 13th from 1pm to 3pmThe Unbearable Lightness of Bean: Reception and Book-signingTo celebrate the publication of Terrabella Smoot and the Unsung Monstersand the opening of Jon "Bean" Hastings's Small Press Spotlight, theCartoon Art Museum is hosting a book signing. This event is theofficial kick off for the West Coast leg of Jon's Smootarama! booksigning tour. For more information about Jon Hastings, please visithttp://www.KiwiBean.com.
2. Saturday Afternoon Cartooning Classes for kids will be held on August13th, August 27th from 1-3pmClasses are held two to three times each month. The attendance fee foreach student is $5, which covers the student's admission to the CartoonArt Museum and the cost of art supplies. Students will learn a widevariety of skills throughout these classes, from character design tostoryboarding to creating their own mini-comics. These classes arerecommended for students from 6-14 years old.Classes are filled first-come first served, advance reservations arerecommended, contact ext. 314 or gallery@cartoonart.org.
